Jonathan’s version.
I couldn’t wait for Vacation Bible School to come around. I knew I would get to see Heather again and I could NOT wait! I had permission to do some things that I had been wanting to do for a long time. I was going to tell Heather “you’re beautiful”. I could also give her the first flowers of our courtship.
When she arrived at the church I had to run to her. So, I ran and gave her a card. As she opened the card I walked beside her and whispered, “I think you’re beautiful”. As soon as I said that she replied by saying, “you’re handsome”. I then handed her the vase of flowers.
After a fabulous week with Jonathan in March, I did not get to see him until July. As mom and I traveled to meet him where he was doing a VBS, I became more excited. I was so thrilled, that I wanted to run to meet him, but I somehow managed to control myself. I walked into the auditorium where he was, not realizing that I just walked passed a vase of flowers he had sitting beside his computer. Seeing the most amazing, handsome guy was the only thing that mattered to me. I did not care about anything else. We talked for a few minutes and then turned to walk to the back of the auditorium. It was then that I saw the beautiful flowers he had for me. He then handed me a card. As I was opening it, I heard him say, “Wait! Wait! Wait!” as he ran over to me and said, “I think you are beautiful!” I truly was surprised, yet just as eager to tell him that I thought he was handsome. I almost slipped and told him before I was allowed. It was so hard not to say anything before.
