Jonathan’s version.
On our way to visit Heather and her family, I made a special stop at Jared’s Jewelry shop. I had never really given Heather any jewelry before so I wanted this to be something extra special! I searched all over the place until I found the perfect bracelet. It was two-toned with hearts!
When we finally made it to her house, we ate supper and sat down on the couch. The time was coming for me to finally say those special words. Heather has always dreamed of being told “I love you” while walking a beach. But her living room was not quite the beach! So, out came the iPhone! I have an app that we have played with before to write each other in the sand. So, I wrote the words, “I like you.” She then wrote, “I like you more!” I then took the phone and hid the message while I wrote, “I love you!” Then I handed her the bracelet. It was a moment I will never forget!
Heather’s version.
When Jonathan gave me flowers before, he told me that he could not give me red roses yet because of what they stood for, so I expected to see him with roses when he came to visit this time! I knew I loved him and could not wait to tell him!!! But when he showed up at my house with no roses, I was a little let down! I did not care about the flowers. I just longed for the moment when I could tell him that I loved him with all of my heart!
After we ate supper, we sat down on the couch, and out came Jonathan’s iPhone! He started writing in the sand like he had done other times, but I had no idea what he was about to do! He wrote the words, ‘’I like you!” I responded with, “I like you more!” He then wrote,”I love you!” It took a moment for it to sink in as I read it! I read it a second time to make sure! I was delighted and surprised and responded with “I love you too!” It was so special to finally tell him! He then handed me a jewelry box with a gorgeous bracelet!
A few months before this happened, I bought a heart-shaped key for Jonathan as a symbol that he had the key to my heart. The day after he told me that he loved me, I was allowed to give him the key to my heart!
